• This is currently an active state tower
• In the fall of 1918, the original 48 FT tower with ladder is built
• 3 miles of phone line are constructed to the tower
• In 1929, stairs are built to replace the ladder
• In 1938, this tower was destroyed in the great hurricane of 1938
• In 1939, a 60 FT Aermotor replacement tower is built
• In 1947, a replacement phone line is constructed
• In 1948, 2-way radios are installed
• In 1959, a new road to the tower is constructed
